Recently Dr. Rex Hamilton, Medical Director of the UCLA Laser Refractive Center, has been recognized as one of the premier surgeons and researchers in the nation. Dr. Hamilton has delivered more than 175 national and international invited lectures on a wide range of topics in the field of cataract and refractive surgery. In addition, he has presented more than 50 scientific presentations at national and international meetings, leading discussions on innovative topics with fellow ophthalmologists. Beyond this recognition of excellence in the field of cataract and refractive surgery, Dr. Hamilton’s clinical research endeavors at UCLA have yielded more than 40 peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters in the scientific literature. Dr. Hamilton sits on several Committees for the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery: the Refractive Surgery and the Refractive Cataract Clinical Committees. These committees set standards of care and update the surgical community on new technologies as they continually emerge in the rapidly advancing field of cataract and refractive surgery.
