With the reopening of the wonderful Jules Stein Building at the Stein Eye Institute, we are able to reflect on a wonderful history and 50 years of excellence at UCLA. In the fall of 1966, the Jules Stein Eye Institute was officially opened, and so began UCLA’s commitment towards preserving and restoring eyesight to millions of our wonderful patients. The Jules Stein Eye Institute has always been at the forefront of technological advances and innovative research. With this commitment to excellence, Stein has been ranked as the “Best in the West” and #5 eye institute in the nation by US News and World Report for 2016-2017. The beneficiary of constant accolades and recognition is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the medical professionals, physicians, and staff that continue to drive our largely acclaimed reputation as leaders in vision care.
With expansions to Santa Monica and further growth, UCLA will not remain content with our previous successes. UCLA has continued to be innovators and leaders in the medical world as well as our local communities. It is a great honor to have such an amazing connection with so many patients and wonderful individuals in our communities and even worldwide. We will strive to move forward and bring excellent vision to as many patients as possible. We hope to continue to give everyone an opportunity at the excellent vision they truly deserve.
